The kidneys of her did not heal after she developed an infection with septicae and eventually was diagnosed with several organ failure. It was then a routine of hemodialysis followed by peritoneal dilution. For the eighteen days she was in the Hospital, the life of her changed for the better. Angelica was on dialysis for over a decade and half before she could undergo an organ transplant. Angelica's mother was the only one who could donate a kidney. In September 2013, Angelica as well as her mother underwent an operation to transplant their kidneys at two amazing hospitals located close to each other: the Memory University Hospital as well as Children's Health of Atlanta Egleston.
