Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong, born on February 8, 1984, is an American actor, comedian and producer. She is also a singer and comedian. Strong is most notable because she was a part-time cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live from 2012 until 2022. She's also the longest-running female cast member in the show's history. Strong was recruited for SNL while doing improv at The Second City in Chicago, where she moved after her graduation from CalArts. Strong is currently the main character of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! The series is produced by her co-producer (2021-2024).
Other tasks include voice overs for The Awesomes (2013-2015), supporting roles in films like Ghostbusters, The Meddler, and The Female Brain. In 2015, she hosted White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her debut book The Memoir This Is Going to be Over Soon Soon, was published.
The show was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist on an Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.
Early life
Strong was born in Springfield, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park, an inner suburb within the ring area of Chicago. She is the daughter Penelope Strong and William "Bill", who both served as Associated Press bureau chiefs and, as of 2013, operated their own PR company. Penny Legler Strong is a nurse practitioner who has worked extensively at area hospitals. Strong's parents are divorced. Strong was a fan of SNL as a child performing sketches with her friend and watching old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape with the best commercials and used to wear it every day." She stated that Phil Hartman was her inspiration.
